On Friday, October 14th, at 11:30 AM, Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz formally reopened Robert E Lee Park and the new Paw Point Dog Park to the public. Both the park and Paw Point are managed by the Robert E Lee Park Nature Council, which cooperates with the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks in the planning of recreational and educational programs and activities.

To kick off the reopening the Nature Council had two website concepts mocked up by a local graphic arts firm. K&S had the honor of turning those concepts into reality. The council wanted to start out simple but laid out some of their long term plans & ideas for these sites. The more we heard the more we knew our Phoenix Engine was perfect for the job. Working closely with Council members we were able to quickly adapt their concepts into Phoenix and lay a solid foundation for what's to come.

Both site's feature stunning imagery of the park, letting the beauty of the park speak as much, if not more than the textual content of the page. If you live in the Baltimore area the park is worth exploring, and if you have dogs, the off-leash Paw Point Dog Park is a wonderful place for both you and your canine friends to enjoy some sun and fun.

Ok, I know this is a departure from my usual blogs here, but this is an issue that has been plaguing me for a good while and I wanted to share my solution. 

The iPhone 4 has what can only be described as a 'known issue' with the home button. However the exact cause and cure are still not clear. Some people claim the issue is software related but after several updates (most recently to iOS5)  I've ruled that out in my case.  That means it's hardware related and the solutions I've seen range from hoping someone at the Apple Store has pity on you and replaces it to taking the phone apart and replacing parts or just buying a new iPhone.  

Since I'm now convinced this is a hardware issue I'm not inclined to buy another iPhone and hope its fixed. Don't get me wrong,  I love my iPhone. I just can't see buying the new 4s or even the 5 (when it arrives) until the reviews are in and I'm sure this is no longer an issue. 

So how did I fix the home button issue? It was quite simple, actually, but I want to say I don't suggest this if your phone is under warranty.

First take a Q-Tip and dip it in rubbing alcohol. Clean all around the home button, even depressing it with the Q-Tip. Do this several times, blowing into the charging port and waiting a few minutes between each cleaning. 

That's it! It took me 5 minutes and my home button works normally now. I can't be sure it will fix everyone's issues with the home button but I wanted to share. Again take care here. Rubbing alcohol evaporates quickly and shouldn't cause any damage or issues but that depends on the condition of your phone and the care you take cleaning the button.
